Orlando
This should have been my first post....but oh well!
Jory and I just got back from Orlando, FL with some really good friends of ours! We decided to take a vacation without Christian before we decided to start trying for baby #2. It was such a fun trip, we were gone for 6 days. The weather was a whole lot nicer in FL, than what it was here in MO. We got there on Friday afternoon, got our rental car and started our adventure!!! We could not check in to our house until 4pm that day...so we had to waste some time!!! We started out the week with some shopping at an outlet mall close to the airport. We got Christian some high-top Converse tennis shoes!! He looks so cute in them!! After we were done shopping we decided it was okay to start heading out to find our house....it was about 30min away from where we were at! We found the house!!! It was a very cute home. It had a private pool, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a huge kitchen! So much nicer than a Hotel. They had a club house where we could get information on the attractions around town. So that was nice! Since we had a kitchen in the house we decided to make a few meals at home that week. Eating out costs a lot of $. So we went to the store and got a few things. That evening we swam and just hung out!!
We decided that both coasts were not that far away, so we went to Daytona Beach, and to Tampa. We were not so fond of Daytona, but we did get a snack at a restruant that had REAL race cars for booths. That was pretty cool. We drove our car on the beach....yes on the sand!! It was SO cool. I have never driven on a beach!! The sand was so compacted, that it was like driving on concrete!
Tampa on the other hand was so beautiful! Jory and I would like to go there again!! The whitest sand I have ever seen. It was so soft too! we played on the beach for the afternoon. It was sunny off and on that day. We also went to see the manities. They did not do a whole bunch but they were still cool to see. They were at Apollo Beach just south of Tampa. There is a power plant there, and the water is really warm for them. They say that there is about 300 manities in that bay. They are different animals!!
We decided to go to the parks during the week, we figured it would be less crowded! We were right. The longest line that we stood in was about 40 min. We did Disney the first...Epcot and Magical Kingdom! I got to see Cinderellas Castle! It was so beautiful. I felt like a little kid!! I was just taking in everything! I think that Jory, Brandon and Janell thought I was funny. I had been to Disney Land several times, but Disney World is so much bigger!! At Epcot, we rode this ride that was called "Test Track" way cool! It was supposed to simulate how they test cars before they sell them. We also did a space simulator that was pretty cool. We went to Mars!! We rode Space mountain. So cool I have never been on a roller coaster in the dark. You could not see when you were going to drop. What a rush!! after eating lunch...we headed over to Magic Kingdom! we took the fairy boat through the lagoon to the island. Oh it was so beautiful. We got there and walked down Main Street, it looked like a scene from a movie. We rode all the rides, including the Tea Cups!!! We walked around and I soaked up the atmosphere! I loved being there! That night we watched the parade and the fireworks. The best fireworks show I have seen in years! We went home and Crashed that night!!!
The next day we got up and went to Universal, Adventure Island. That is the part of Universal that has all the roller coasters. I am now a junky for the coasters!! Janell got me hooked on riding in the front row too!! I have never done that before!! I don't have any pictures of Universal, because I did not want to run the risk of loosing my camera. I am torn on what ride I liked the best!!! Dueling Dragons or the Incredible Hulk! Both were equally cool. Dueling dragons was two different tracks that the cars came at each other!!! You have to ride in the front for that one! Hulk you start out by going slow up the track and then all the sudden it shoots you out of the tunnel, into a cork screw turn!!! AHHH It was so much fun! Roller coasters are now my new favorite thing!!!
That is pretty much it! We had a really good time with our friends!! We did miss Christian though! He had fun at Grandma and Grandpa's House that week. Here are some pictures of our trip!!!
